A Writeback is the process of moving information from SchoolEngage to PowerSchool.

If courses are setup correctly it is possible to have the selected courses send from SchoolEngage to PowerSchool.

Writeback Prerequisites

In order to writeback courses, the application must be:

Approved
Written back (Student Enrolment Information)
Have courses on the Form and application
Staff user must have the Application Course Writeback permission.

In order for writebacks to occur, it is also necessary for:

An SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) Connection to be setup to generate a flat file for import.
An AutoComm record to be created in PowerSchool to import the relevant data. For more information, please see the PowerSchool Courses AutoComm Setup section.

Writeback Courses

When you select Writeback Courses you will bring up a table of the courses selected in the form.

Course - The course the user Selected.
Section - The section selected by you as staff.
Approve - The approval status of the section.
- Pending - nothing has been selected.
- Approved - the section selection has been approved.
- Denied - this course is denied and will not be written back.
Select - a button that will allow you to select the specific section.

To submit a course writeback, at least one course must be either Approved or Denied. Only approved courses will be written back.

Select Sections

When you select a section you will be able to see the School the section is for, the Entry date for the section, the term, and a list of possible sections for that student. You can then select a section and hit the Select button to continue.

Submit Writeback

Once all the sections are selected you can writeback the data to PowerSchool. A new Application History should appear right away. How long before the course enrollment appears in PowerSchool will depend on the SFTP settings and how often the AutoComm record runs.
