Sending SMS/Voice Messages

Overview

SMS & Voice Messages can be sent to notify parents regarding time sensitive situations and other general purpose messages.

Some common uses include:

  • Transportation delay and outages

  • Unexcused absences

  • Events & other Notices

Sending Messages from the Students List Page

Messages can be sent to the parents of students on the students list page Users > Students.

Student Contacts' phone numbers is retrieved from the contact’s PowerSchool page.

Sending Messages via selecting Students

To fine tune a list of students to send messages:

  1. Click the check box of each student

  2. Click the “Action with Selected” button

  3. Select “Send Communication”

  4. Fill out the Communication Sender Window

  5. Click “Send”

The communication sender window lets staff fine tune what is sent to recipients.

The different phone types in PowerSchool which the message sender will attempt to send to.
