User Spot Sync

Overview

This guide explains how to sync accounts with PowerSchool using the spot sync feature in SchoolEngage. This tool ensures that account information is up to date and that all parents and students are linked as they are in PowerSchool without waiting for the nightly sync.

How to Use this Feature

  1. Open the user’s profile.

  2. Click the “Actions” dropdown at the top left corner of the user's profile.

  3. Click the “PowerSchool Sync” button.

Note: After clicking, nothing will appear to happen. If new information has been pulled in from PowerSchool, the user's information will be automatically refreshed.


Limitations

This tool currently does not support staff accounts.

This tool is designed to update SchoolEngage profiles that are already connected to PowerSchool. The information updated varies based on the account type:

Enrollment Status

No restrictions.

Parents

Only includes parents who have active access accounts.

Important: This tool will only link existing SchoolEngage accounts based on what is set up in PowerSchool. It will not create new accounts or connect users to existing accounts in PowerSchool.
