Exporting Data from Alberta Ed Website

Within the Alberta Ed website, place a check mark for the data that needs to be imported to Dossier.

Importing to Dossier

To import data to Dossier, use the following steps:

Extract District csv files from Alberta Ed. zip file for each Assessment

  1. Unzip the file supplied from Alberta Ed.

    1. NOTE: if unzip fails then navigate within the zip file by double clicking on the file and the subsequent folders until you reach the desired csv file.

  2. Locate the district authority csv file for each assessment

    1. For example: for CC3 English the csv file would be located within the zip file-> Alberta Education files for [A.*district code*].zip\Assessment\K-4 Numeracy and Literacy 2024-2025\January 2025\Courses\School Division Name [A.*district code*]\CCT0100 [A.*district code*].csv

    2. The Courses\School Division Name [A.*district code*] folder should contain all the assessments. You only need to select the District csv file which contains the District Code in the name. Alberta Education may change the exact folder where the csv file is located; however, it would be located somewhere in the Courses folder.

    3. Make note of the location of the csv file to select it during the upload process. NOTE: If the Alberta Ed. file did not unzip in step 1 then copy the csv file from the zip file to another location of your PC (right-click the csv file->select “copy”->navigate to the desired location (folder) of your PC->right-click in the folder->select “Paste”).
