Types of Field Mappings

Inputs

Inputs are used to prepopulate a given field with information data from a data specified map source when the form is generated. This reduces the need for users to have to fill out the same information every time.

Outputs

Outputs are used for sending send the submitted data from a form to a designated map source upon writeback.

Send Values

A fixed output value that will be sent to the specified data source when a form is writtenbackmap source during writeback.

Mapping Settings

Ignore on Writeback If Empty

By default, SchoolEngage will send empty values on writeback. This means if a field is not filled out, it could potentially wipe out existing data in PowerSchool. To prevent this, you can enable this map setting to stop empty data from being sent.

Note: If the field is left empty and this setting is enabled, all send values associated with this field will not be sent.

Limitations

Inputs

  • Only one input mapping can be used on a is allowed per field.

  • Fields are only pre-populated when the form is generated/created.

    Example: Sending "True" to a dropdown list that does not recognize "True" as a valid option will result in the field displaying as blank.
